<\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]The Project for Disseminating the Study of Law was originally a student activity under the name of the “Legal Studies” club. Following the 6 October 1976 incident, the Legal Studies Club was disbanded. However, the Faculty of Law recognised the project’s value for students and society as a whole, and re-established it as the Project for Disseminating the Study of Law on 30 November 1978.<\/p>\n

In its first phase, the Project for Disseminating the Study of Law was under the supervision of the Professional Development Committee of the Faculty of Law. Later, the Faculty of Law decided that there should be a dedicated agency responsible for services to society. Therefore, it established the Law Centre to perform this duty. In addition to overseeing the Project for Disseminating the Study of Law, the Law Centre has the following objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. Disseminate legal knowledge and provide legal assistance to the public.<\/li>\n
  2. Instruct students in practical legal skills and ethical conduct in the legal profession.<\/li>\n
  3. Train and instil in students a sense of responsibility for promoting justice in society.<\/li>\n
  4. Research and study legal issues in society.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Currently, the Law Centre has 3 offices for providing legal assistance to the public: Thammasat University Tha Prachan, Thammasat University Rangsit Campus, and Thammasat University Lampang Campus.[\/vc_column_text]

    Currently, the Law Centre offers legal services to the public in three main areas:<\/p>\n

    1. Dissemination of Legal Knowledge.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

    <\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp” css=””]The Law Centre disseminates legal knowledge to the public, particularly to people in rural areas, through short-term legal training programmes for local leaders and by distributing legal books to the general public.     2. Assistance to the Public in Litigation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

    <\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp” css=””]In this area, the Law Centre has established an office for legal assistance to the public in the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, in Tha Prachan, the Rangsit Campus and the Lampang Campus. In the event of a dispute, the office will arrange for lawyers to assist in the litigation process free of charge. The provision of assistance is subject to the following conditions:<\/p>\n
