Program Overview:
This summer seminar aims to analyze the rule of law status in Asian countries and examine the factors preventing its construction and the measures for improving the rule of law construction in Asia. This year, we will focus on (1) the business and human rights issues, (2) the increasing international migration of workers and human rights protection, and (3) the relation between democracy promotion and economic development, because these are the crucial issues for us to construct the rule of law in Asian countries.

Students will attend two 90-minute sessions every day afternoon. In each session, we will invite experts on the business and human rights issues, the protection of international migrant workers, the legal practitioners, and the rule of law scholars.
