The Professor Dr. Yut Sanguthai Foundation was established with the aim of promoting the academic study of law for both students and lecturers, through the provision of a fund for legal education and research, textbook printing and publication, establishing prizes for authors of outstanding textbooks and articles in the field of law, and other activities to develop legal education and research.
The Professor Dr. Yut Sanguthai Foundation, together with the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, runs an academic seminar every year, the objectives of which are to honour Professor Dr. Yut Sanguthai, a forefather of lawyers, to publicise the academic activities of the Professor Dr. Yut Sanguthai Foundation, and to open a forum for the exchange of views on various issues relating to the academic basis of criminal law, for students, alumni and the general public. For example, the Professor Dr. Yut Sanguthai Foundation and the Faculty of Law jointly held a seminar on “Article 112: From a Legal Controversy to a Social Controversy” on Saturday 28 April 2012 at the Jit Setthabutr Room, Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, Tha Prachan, with Mr Thaworn Senniam, Mr Somchai Homlor, Assistant Professor Dr. Kittisak Prokati, and Associate Professor Dr. Worachet Pakeerut as pannelists and lecturer Sawatree Suksri officiated.
In 2013, an academic seminar was held on “Hearing Evidence in Criminal Cases and the Constitution” by Prof. Dr. Udom Ratthaamrit (Full-time faculty member of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University), Associate Professor Narong Jaiharn (Full-time faculty member of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University) and Professor (Adjunct) Khemchai Chuthiwong (Director-General of the Office of the Public Prosecutor) as speakers; lecturer Sawatree Suksri officiated.
