About the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Centre
In 2001, the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University announced a new and improved postgraduate programme, through a Master of Laws programme in Natural Resources and Environmental Law, a first in Thailand (along with seven other branches). The Faculty of Law, therefore, established the natural resources and environmental law department, to be responsible for teaching on this programme. It had no responsibility for education at undergraduate level.
Then, in 2018, the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University adopted a policy of establishing specialist education centres rather than various departments, and therefore established the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Centre in place of the natural resources and environmental law department, which is responsible for education in the field of natural resources and environmental law at both undergraduate and master’s level, with the following missions:
(1) Develop a body of academic knowledge in the field under the purview of the Natural Resources and Environment Law Centre.
(2) Conduct research studies to develop a body of academic knowledge with the scope of the Natural Resources and Environment Law Centre
(3) Organise academic seminars or other activities that are academic services to society
(4) Conduct other activities assigned by the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University
