Legal Training and Consultancy Centre

Service to Society
The Faculty of Law has established the Legal Training and Consultancy Centre.

The Legal Training and Consultancy Centre (or “LeTEC”) of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, is dedicated to providing training to develop legal personnel in various fields, including by short-term and long-term courses, to meet the needs of government agencies, state enterprises, private sector businesses, as well as executives, academics, and the general public, or those who want to develop advanced and specialised skills. LeTEC focuses on providing training with modern curricula of a quality and standard that are accepted in society. It is an agency that provides academic services to society and the public.

The Legal Training and Consultancy Centre also provides legal training courses that are tailored to the specific needs of organisations and companies, and adjusts the curricula to be in line with operations and methods of doing business that are ever changing, so that knowledge can be put into practice.

The training programmes of the Legal Training and Consultancy Centre can be divided into the following three categories:

Long-term training programmes

Long-term training programmes, which aim to provide knowledge from foundational to in-depth level, such as:

  • Diploma Programme in Public Law
  • Diploma Programme in International Trade Law
  • English for Lawyers Programme
  • Diploma Programme in Tax Law
  • Diploma Programme in Banking and Finance Law

Short-term training programmes

Short-term training programmes, which focus on specific legal topics and have a short training period, such as:

  • Training programme for high school law teachers
  • Training programme on electronic evidence
  • Training programme for construction contract management
  • Training programme on consumer protection law for entrepreneurs
  • Training programme on the fundamentals of international investment law and arbitration

Customised training programmes

Customised training programmes, which are designed to meet the specific needs of the organisation in the public or private sector for which the Legal Training and Consultancy Centre is providing training. Organisations for which the Legal Training and Consultancy Centre has provided training:

  • Office of the Senate Secretariat
  • Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)
  • Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC)
  • National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC)
  • Lao People’s Democratic Republic
  • National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC)
  • National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
  • Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC)
  • Department of Treasury
  • Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand
  • Department of Disease Control

หลักสูตรนิติศาสตรมหาบัณฑิต สาขากฎหมายทั่วไป

หลักสูตรนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการสร้างและพัฒนาบัณฑิตให้มีทักษะแห่งอนาคตอย่างเท่าทันการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลกในมิติต่าง ๆ โดยมุ่งเน้นการศึกษาที่มีการค้นคว้าวิจัยด้านนิติศาสตร์ด้วยตนเอง และการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์จริงโดยการสร้างเครือข่ายการเรียนรู้ร่วมกับภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน รวมถึงการสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ให้สอดคล้องกับสังคมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วตามภาวะเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ตลอดจนเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในบริบทการจัดการศึกษาเพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็ว

หลักสูตรนี้แบ่งเป็น 2 แผนการศึกษา คือ แผน 1 เป็นการศึกษาวิชากฎหมาย 24 หน่วยกิต และวิทยานิพนธ์ 12 หน่วยกิต และแผน 2 เป็นการศึกษาวิชากฎหมาย 30 หน่วยกิต และวิชาการศึกษาค้นคว้าอิสระ (Independent Research) 6 หน่วยกิต

การเข้าเรียนตามหลักสูตรนี้ ผู้สมัครต้องผ่านการสอบข้อเขียนวิชาหลักกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ หลักกฎหมายอาญา หลักกฎหมายมหาชน หลักกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ รวมถึงพิจารณาผลการทดสอบคะแนนภาษาอังกฤษ (TU-GET/TOEFL/IELTS) และการสอบสัมภาษณ์สำหรับผู้สอบผ่านข้อเขียน

นอกจากการเรียนในชั้นเรียนแล้ว คณะนิติศาสตร์ยังสนับสนุนให้นักศึกษาในหลักสูตรนิติศาสตรมหาบัณฑิตดูงานตามหน่วยงานหรือองค์กรต่าง ๆ ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศเพื่อเพิ่มพูนความรู้และประสบการณ์ของนักศึกษาผ่านทางประสบการณ์ของผู้ที่อยู่ในสายงานหรือภาคปฏิบัติ
