In 2018, the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, restructured and expanded the academic authority and responsibilities of its departments and divisions. This reform transformed their roles from passive to more proactive operations, in accordance with the Announcement of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University on the Establishment of Law Study Centers.
Under this initiative, departments and divisions were designated as key units for developing legal knowledge—serving as vital mechanisms in advancing academic excellence and community engagement. They also play an important role in supporting the academic development of master’s and doctoral students to ensure quality and high standards.
This approach aligns with international practices, where law centers function as hubs for legal knowledge development. The initiative aims to enhance the Faculty’s academic excellence and promote the practical application of legal knowledge to address social and national issues—one of the core missions of the Faculty of Law and Thammasat University.
